Community / Government / Business

Creating Links provides a range of training and consultancy services for the arts and others working in community. Our training and services are tailored for the groups we work with.

As a registered training organisation we sometimes receive funding from the Department of Education and Training (DET) to offer subsidised accredited training to creatives and community workers and volunteers, providing professional development as well as building capability for participants to work effectively in community.

We work closely and partner with local councils and community organisations in the delivery of our accredited training program, providing opportunities for community participants to develop skills and build enduring networks and relationships with the training partner and other participants.

Creating Links works closely with local government cultural managers and officers in the delivery of its training program and services. We can negotiate with council staff to tailor our accredited training to fit in with upcoming projects and activities happening locally. This process makes the training relevant to the local community and value adds to the council’s project/activity by providing additional research data, which participants gather as part of their coursework.

We also tailor accredited training to fit in with our community engagement services, to develop capacity and skills and share knowledge whilst concurrently researching and collecting data. Training participants gain continued hands on experience, facilitating groups and if applicable, may conduct cultural mapping sessions. The training’s practical application makes it accessible to all the community.

Our unaccredited training delivery program for local government covers a suite of Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) training for committees and the community participants they serve. As a statewide training provider, we connect with RADF committees from all over the State and are privileged to be able to provide an extensive range of knowledge and sharing of resources to the training we deliver.
